Counseling and treatment planning
Weight-loss surgery is not only intervention into your body but into your life. Bariatric experts help you not only with their knowledge and experience before surgery, they will advise you also after the procedure. With their rich knowledge they are at your disposal to answer all your questions about the surgery as well as those about a diet, about how do you feel, about your activities and other changes.
During a surgical exam in an outpatient clinic weight-loss surgeon will tell you everything about the procedure, about possible weight-loss surgeries, and about a protocol after the surgery. He will delineate all risks, side effects and advantages of every single surgery. A specialist thoroughly discusses with a patient his/her problems, previous health issues, his/her family history, patient's habits, and of course the nature of a business patient is in and his/her profession.
After that he checks all needed medical reports (gastroscopy, endocrinologist, psychiatrist) that patient has carried out or that a patient is going to carry out a day or two before the surgery on our clinic. At the end surgeon makes a diagnosis of a disease (or few of them) and suggests and explains to the patient available treatment or indicates a type of weight-loss surgery.
Who will take care of you?
A procedure from the arrival till discharge and who will take care of you.
After the admission to clinic you will complete administrative procedure in a reception office. After that, everything will happen by itself. First, a nurse will get you in the surgery and then an anesthesiology specialist who is taking care for anesthesia during the surgery, will perform a checkup. Every surgery is endoscopic. At the end of a surgery they will wake you up from anesthesia while still in a surgical suite and then move you in the hospital ward. Patients are admitted to the clinic a day before a surgery, and a day after it they are able to go home. You will also have a visit from a dietitian before discharge.
During the hospitalization other surgeons will also check up on you.
After discharge from clinic
Upon discharge from clinic you will get catamnesis together with directions for further recovery at home and a date for a check-up at the outpatient department. When discharged each patient gets mobile number of a surgeon who performed a surgery. Surgeons are all the time at disposal to patients, after they are discharged, in case of any problem. You will also have a visit from a dietitian before discharge.
